The Chemistry department serves the purpose of imparting knowledge in the core science subject and reinforces much to improve life for humankind. The department of Chemistry is an inclusive, supportive, and innovative community whose common goal is to create new chemical knowledge and to mentor the next generation of the best and brightest students who will define the next frontiers of science and societies. The department of chemistry is one of the oldest departments of Lalbaba College affiliated to the University of Calcutta. This department is offers only the B.Sc General course in Chemistry. The department has well qualified, experienced and highly motivated faculty members. Presently there are two faculties serving the department. The department has a well-equipped practical laboratory and it conducts practical classes on a regular basis. Besides the class lectures and laboratory sessions, this department often arranges tutorials and special contact hours. The results of the students have also been extremely praiseworthy over the years. The departmental teachers are always there to support our students and encourage them to achieve their goals during as well as after completion of their course.
