Dr. Chhatradhar Das, M.Sc. (Double), M.Phil, PGDCA, Ph.D.
View ProfilePhysics creates the basis of all scientific and fundamental understanding which leads ultimately to applications that benefit society. An education in physics provides a solid basis of such knowledge and trains students in the analytical thinking that has always been unique. The department of Physics of Lalbaba College provides General level education to the students of B.Sc (General) as well as Mathematics (Hons.) students. The degree offered provide an important step towards pursuing a career in many different areas like school teaching and higher studies. The Department is fully equipped with modern Computer facilities which includes Internet for integration of information and communication in teaching and learning process. Besides equipment for experiments, ICT enabled classroom also available within the Department which includes Laptop, projectors, speakers for giving effective learning to the students especially in demonstrating the experiments as well as computer related classes. The students are informed about their performance level and drawbacks. Teachers are always encouraging students to improve overall performance by providing tutorial classes. The department also organizes activities like quiz contests by which the performance of a particular student can be assessed. Homework is also assigned and evaluated regularly. The teachers update themselves for discharging their teaching responsibilities through participating in seminars (UGC sponsored or otherwise), workshops etc. Departmental meetings are held regularly where the teachers and the students’ representatives meet to discuss freely and try to find out ways and means for the academic development of the department.
